Executive Director
A native of New Brighton Minnesota, Neil played his youth and high school hockey in the Irondale hockey program. After high school, Neil played four years of collegiate hockey and soccer at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems in 2002. He earned his MBA in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Colorado State University in 2015.
Neil has coached at all youth levels in Colorado for Boulder, Aspen, and the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders Tier 1 program. He also spent four years as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Spokane Americans Youth Hockey Organization before returning to Boulder Hockey in 2020, where he had previously served as Assistant Director of Hockey Operations from 2012-2015.
In the 2022-2023 season, Neil coached the RoughRiders 14U AAA team to a Colorado State Championship.
Director of Hockey Operations
Chris grew up in Cleveland, Ohio playing hockey in the Little Caesars Hockey League for the Cleveland Americans. He went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from Colorado State University where he was the captain of their ACHA Division I Men’s Hockey Team. After graduating from CSU, Chris helped build Boulder Valley Ice at Superior where he helped manage the rink as well as coach the PeeWee AA team for BHC.
Chris then served as the Hockey Director for the Aspen Junior Leafs from 2003 until 2011, where he helped develop players of all ages. Chris returned to Boulder and joined BHC as the Hockey Director from 2012 until 2016.
During his tenure as Hockey Director at BHC, the club saw an unprecedented increase in skill level of players and success of their teams. Some notable achievements include winning the PeeWee AA Quebec Qualifier in 2014 and in his 2016 winning the State Championship with the Bantam AAs - earning them an opportunity to compete at Nationals. During the 2015-2016 season, BHC clubs dominated at all levels by winning 18 championships.
Chris has served as a Skills and Skating Coach for the U13AAA and U14AAA Rocky Mountain RoughRiders teams, the U8 & U10 Age Group Director for Boulder Hockey Club and the Director of the Lady RoughRiders. As the Lady RoughRider Director, Chris took his 14AA team to the 2018 USA Hockey Nationals, and in 2021 his 16AA team won the National Championship. Chris has also coached for Team Colorado Girls AAA program at the 16U and 19U levels.
Chris’ approach to coaching focuses all on the kids and skill development with a primary focus on skating.
