LRR Hockey Director - Darin Schumacher

We are proud to announce that Darin Schumacher will be joining the Lady RoughRiders as our Lady RoughRiders Hockey Director for the upcoming season.  Darin brings more than 25 years of elite coaching, leadership, and teaching experience to our program. He has a proven track record in girls hockey, having built and led competitive high school programs and, most recently, guiding the 19U CDAHA Lady Thunder to a Rocky Mountain Regional Championship and a berth at USA Hockey Nationals.

Boulder Hockey Club 12AA wins Avalanche Qualifier, headed to Quebec for second year in a row!

DENVER — The Boulder Hockey Club (BHC) 12AA High Performance team secured their spot in the prestigious 66th Annual Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a thrilling overtime victory. The Riders defeated the Littleton Hawks 3-2 in the Avalanche International Qualifier final at Magness Arena on Monday, November 24.

For the second consecutive year, the two Colorado teams battled it out in the tournament final, with Boulder once again emerging victorious in overtime. BHC will now represent the state of Colorado as the "Junior Avalanche" for two weeks in February at the prestigious international tournament, which features 12U teams from around the world.

BHC & LRR 12U Win Silverstick Regional!!

Congratulations to the Boulder Hockey Club 12AA and the Lady RoughRiders 12A on winning their championship games in the Rocky Mountain Regional Silver Stick tournament. Both teams will advance to the Silver Stick final in Port Huron, MI (Co-Ed) and Sarnia, ON (Girls) in January. Let's Go Riders!!!

Gilhooly - AHF Player of Week!

Congrats to Sieger Gilhooly who earned Player of the Week honors from his performance along with the 12AA team at the Atlantic Hockey Federation's weekend showcase in Harrisburg, PA. The 12AA team went 4-0 on the weekend supported by Seiger's 15 point (8 Goals - 7 Assists) weekend! 

12AA Wins Avalanche International Qualifier in Double Overtime

Magness Arena, Denver University [November 25, 2024] - The Boulder Hockey Club 12AA team has earned a spot in the prestigious 65th Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, set for February 2025, after an exciting victory in the Avalanche International Qualifier. The Riders, undefeated in pool play and a semi-final victory over Arvada, mounted an incredible comback to defeat the Littleton Hawks in a nail-biting championship final on Monday night. Overcoming a two goal deficit twice - the Riders dug deep, never gave up, and with their goaltender pulled, scored twice in the last 1:53 to tie the game at 4 sending the match into a tense 4v4 overtime. At 3:45 of the second OT, with Riders’ forward Sieger Gilhooly being taken down while charging the net, he managed to net the game-winning goal, sealing the victory for Boulder and sending the team to Quebec! The Riders will represent Colorado Hockey as the Junior Avalanche in February. Congrats 12AA!!!!!

PFEIFER WINS AVALANCHE MINI 1 ON 1 CHALLENGE!!!!

Congratulations to Quinn Pfeifer, our BHC 14A goalie, for taking home the win in the Colorado Avalanche Mini 1 on 1 Challenge! In the final round, Quinn was unstoppable, going a perfect 9 for 9 on saves and beating out the other two finalists, who went 4 for 9.

The Mini 1 on 1 Challenge is a premier shootout-style tournament where players compete individually to be crowned the top shooter or top goalie in Colorado within their age divisions. Competing across three intense rounds — qualifier, semifinal, and final — Quinn showcased incredible skill, determination, and focus to claim the top spot in the 14U division. Way to represent, Quinn!

LRR 12U WINS INTERNATIONAL SILVER STICK

They did it!!!!! Our LRR 12s won the International Silver Stick Tournament in not 1, not 2 but 3 overtime sessions! The girls played incredibly well. We are so proud of how this team plays together and were never outworked. This is their second undefeated tournament in the last couple of weeks. Congrats to the coaching staff, families that trekked to Sarnia and especially the ladies for bringing it all weekend!!!!

Lady RoughRiders 12U and 16AA Win Silver Stick Regional!!

Both the 12U Lady RoughRiders and the 16AA Lady Roughriders won their International Silver Stick Regional tournaments this past weekend! Good luck to both teams as they head to Sarnia, ON in January!!
